A burning question asked by all fans of the series is: When does Game of Thrones start? We’ll breakdown what might just be the closest to an accurate answer on the web.
Game of Thrones Season 4 started filming this July, less than 1 month after the Season 3 finale, which means they’re on path to be consistent with the rest of the show’s premier dates so far. Seasons 1 & 2 premiered both in April 2011/2012, while Season 3 premiered late March of 2013. If the past is anything to go by, we should expect a Game of Thrones Season 4 premier of late March, early April of 2014!
It’s important to note that IMDB have only written ’2014′ for the listed air-date of episodes 1 and 2 of Season 4.
When does Game of Thrones start has been a widely asked question in the community. On top of that, fans are also asking about new cast members for Season 4. Confirmed by George R.R. Martin himself, there will be at least 3 new cast members; Magnar of Thenn, Mace Tyrell and Oberyn Martell.
To summarise, I’m predicting a Game of Thrones start date of late March, early April. I acknowledge that this is a very long time to wait when you’re itching to see how the next part of the story will be translated to the screen. Something you might be interested in to kill some time, if you’ve already read the books, is a new book George R.R. Martin is releasing called The Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister, which is rumoured to be released in December 2013. Personally I wish he wouldn’t sidetrack himself and get on with The Winds of Winter!
